MEET THE LAWRENCE COUNTY PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE

  • Jennifer Jessup, R.N. - Graduated from Ivy Tech School of Nursing in 1992 as an L.P.N.  She returned to Ivy Tech 14 yrs later to obtain an Associates in Science & achieve her licensure as an R.N.  Jennifer comes to us from the Bloomington Hospital where she worked in Progressive Care.  Over the years she has worked in many fields of Nursing.  Some of these areas are Extended Care, Pediatrics, Adult Homecare & Acute Care.  She also serves her community by volunteering at the Monroe Chapter of Volunteers in Medicine.  She looks forward to serving the Community of Lawrence County.  Please join us as we welcome Jennifer to the Lawrence Co. Health Dept.

 

 

IMMUNIZATION INFORMATION

  • Childhood immunizations are given at the Lawrence County Health Department BY APPOINTMENT, Tuesday thru Friday for an Administration Fee of $8.00 per shot.  Appointments are scheduled 9 to 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 to 4:15 p.m.  IMMUNIZATION RECORDS ARE REQUIRED for all patients.
  • Copies of  your immunization record may be obtained at the Lawrence County Health Department   for a fee of $2.00. You will need to fill out an Immunization Record Request Form & an I.D. is required.  The Lawrence County Health Department is a member of the Indiana Immunization Program C.H.I.R.P.  Do to this fact, we should  have record of immunizations that have been given by a Health Dept. in the state of Indiana.
  • TB Testing is provided on Mondays BY APPOINTMENT!  (See Services & Fees)
  •  Immunizations are offered for children entering Kindergarten, 6th grade and students needing the newly required Hep B series for High School. There is an $8.00 Administration Fee per Shot.   A Shot Record is Required.  
  • Free Non-Evasive HIV Testing by a representative of Positive Link is done Quarterly.  The Dates are as follows:

                                                 May 5, 2009                    2:00 - 4:00

                                              August 4, 2009                   2:00 - 4:00

                                       November 10, 2009                   2:00 - 4:00

  • Please see Bedford Online website for a calendar of events throughout the year listing most of our clinics as they occur. We also announce our clinics on WBIW/WQRK radio stations & list them in the Bedford Times-Mail Newspaper.
  • For information regarding vaccinations for travel to foreign countries, please visit the Centers for Disease Control website.
  • Adult Vaccines are available for a fee, by appointment . Please refer to Services & Fees Page.

The Nursing Division provides health education and telephone consultation services.  They cover many topics, such as those listed below:
