Meet the Health Officer

     Alan F. Smith, M.D., Lawrence County Health Officer since January 2000, has a medical degree from Indiana University and has been pathologist with rights at both Bedford hospitals since 1978.  Prior to accepting the position of Health Officer, he had been a Board of Health member since May 1985.  His leadership and continual support are an asset to the Lawrence County Health Department.
